Monica intensifies

The weather bureau says severe tropical cyclone Monica has intensified as it moves slowly across the Gulf of Carpentaria. At 7:00pm ACST, Monica was a category 4 storm, about 345 kilometres east-southeast of Nhulunbuy, moving slowly north-west.
