Tornado damages cars and houses

A tornado has swept through an area of north-west London leaving a trail of destruction behind.

Several buildings and cars were badly damaged when the freak weather hit Kensal Rise. Police said no-one had been injured A total of 11 fire crews were called to Chamberlayne Road and the road has been closed to traffic.

One witness said there was heavy rain and sleet and he saw debris "falling through the air". Emergency services were called at about 1100GMT to reports of collapsed scaffolding and damage to buildings.
