Depression expected to become Tropical Storm Debby
MIAMI - The fourth tropical depression of the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season formed today in the far eastern Atlantic and was expected to become Tropical Storm Debby as it approached the southernmost Cape Verde islands.
By 5 p.m., the depression was about 250 miles southeast of the islands, and moving toward the west-northwest at 12 miles per hour, the Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
