Destructive Weather Strikes Greenwich
GREENWICH, Conn. (1010 WINS) -- A severe storm slammed into Greenwich Wednesday afternoon, taking down power lines and tree limbs and prompting a tornado warning.
Police say they are not sure if a tornado actually touched down anywhere.
The storm was expected to move out into Long Island Sound, taking the heavy rains and winds with it.
As of 9:15pm, 1,400 Greenwich residents had no electricity. An additional 400 homes are said to be in the dark across Connecticut.
