Rita went from a tropical storm to a category 5 hurricane within 2 days. Very fast for a storm. Also, she has been reported to be the 3rd worst storm in recorded history. Worse than Kartina. What I have noticed too is Rita's projected path is slowly moving towads the Mississippi River delta. New Orleans will get more water and possibly re-flood.
